Eagles Nest lies near to Symondsbury Estate who own and manage the property. Set amongst pasture and ancient woodland in rural Dorset, Symondsbury Estate is within walking distance of beautiful, untouched beaches. Symondsbury Estate has been owned by the Colfox family for over a hundred years and has buildings dating back to the fifteenth century. It’s near to Dorset’s Jurassic coastline and to so many amazing beaches that you will be spoilt for choice. Visitors are encouraged to walk to the top of Colmer hill to see the absolutely stunning panoramic view of the sea and rolling hills of the Dorset countryside. There are sometimes buzzards to be spotted overhead and it’s a fantastic place to look out over the world as so many have done before. There are many other routes and historic paths over the estate and bicycles can be hired for this purpose.
An animal viewing is open to visitors and they will be charmed by the animals who they see there: Black pigs, Pygmy goats and the ever-friendly Minty the sheep are a delight to children as well as their parents. Inside of Eagles Nest the aged wooden beams which stretch over this otherwise modern and up-to-date property. The owners have been careful to renovate the place thoroughly but delicately so that guests can enjoy the best of both worlds. The style is bright during the day but will quickly become cosy at night as guests recline on the comfortable and spacious sofas in the sitting room in front of a log burner fire. The property can sleep six people comfortably and has three double bedrooms with zip and link beds which can be made into two singles or one super king size bed as required. The main bathroom has a bath with an overhead power shower and two of the bedrooms are en-suite. There is a downstairs WC as well and a utility room with washer and dryer. The bright and spacious kitchen is fully up-to-date with all the necessary appliances and the dining table can seat up to ten people. The house has a TV with Freeview and DVD and has telephone and Wi-Fi.
The large private garden is arguably the best feature of the house as this well-kept garden is situated in the very middle of some of the best landscape of the Dorset countryside. The trees, bushes and hedges of the garden afford guests their privacy without taking away from the incredible views of the surrounding countryside. The sun loungers and outdoor chairs with table mean that you don’t have to leave your seat to enjoy the sights on offer. Some guests may choose to spend most of their holiday in this very place! A hot tub provides another great place to relax but for those with more energy, a trampoline and a games room with table tennis and table football is on hand for further fun. The outdoor table and chairs will be the place for everyone to gather when it’s drinks time or when guests decide to make use of the gas barbecue which the house provides. It will take the very worst of English weather to make you want to leave this most beautiful of English gardens.
