Large and luxurious country house in Dorset with a big garden, swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and games room. Crepe Farmhouse is perfect for big groups and parties of up to seventeen people. A rural retreat with all you could want for a weekend of fun on the historic and idyllic Symondsbury Estate.
A big group looking for a place to go on a short break or holiday really couldn’t go wrong if they chose Crepe Farmhouse. The place itself is huge and sleeps seventeen people and it is situated just outside of Symondsbury Village and Bridport making it an ideal getaway for group celebrations or weddings. This incredible house is Grade II listed but has all modern conveniences in addition to many special features that make it a great place to stay. The garden has stunning views across the rolling Dorset countryside and an indoor heated swimming pool which guests can make use of all year round. For anyone who prefers to do their swimming outdoors, the location of the property is less than two miles away from the stunning Dorset coast (also a world heritage site due to its Jurassic coastline) with a multitude of gorgeous, unspoilt beaches to choose from. Surrounding Crepe Farmhouse is Symondsbury Estate with plenty of fun activities and miles upon miles of spectacular rural beauty to enjoy.
Symondsbury Estate is set amongst the pasture and ancient woodland of rural Dorset and within walking distance of beautiful, untouched beaches. Owned by the Colfox family for over a hundred years and with buildings dating back to the fifteenth century, Symondsbury Estate is near to the Jurassic coast and to so many amazing beaches that you will be spoilt for choice. A short, half hour walk will take visitors to the top of Colmer hill to enjoy the stunning panoramic view of the sea and rolling hills of the Dorset countryside. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of a buzzard overhead. There are plenty of other routes and historic paths over the Symondsbury Estate and bicycles can be hired for this purpose.
Animal lovers will be thrilled to meet the animals in a viewing area where Black pigs, Pygmy goats and the ever-friendly Minty the sheep are a delight to all children as well as their parents. Symondsbury Estate’s garden provides fresh, quality, organic produce for the Symondsbury Kitchen all year round and some of these delicious items such as jams, marmalades, cheeses, beers, and gins can be purchased by guests. Horse and Carriage rides are available for a leisurely tour of the area and for the more adventurous there are even survival courses which teach key survival skills delivered by experienced and knowledgeable trainers. There are one-day taster courses on offer for the bold and four-day courses for the even bolder!
Guests can take short trip to the village of Bridport which is only a few minutes’ drive from the Symondsbury Estate and find several restaurants as well as a vintage market and a museum. There’s a Waitrose in Bridport for any last-minute home comforts, but you’re likely to have everything you could want for your holiday on Symondsbury Estate itself.
Please enter Symondsbury Estate through the road entrance on the B3162. Follow the signs to our carpark. We must kindly ask that our visitors do not park in the village.

The house is beautifully decorated throughout so that the style and elegance of this Grade II listed building is matched by its interior. None of this comes at the expense of comfort though and there is also a wide array of available activities for guests during their stay here. There is a heated, indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a games room with table tennis and table football, and a cinema room with a full Sky TV package. Wi-Fi is available and there’s a lounge with a TV and two sofas.
The house has seven double rooms and a triple and all of the beds are zip and link beds meaning they can be rearranged for two singles or one double bed. Some of the rooms have spectacular views across the surrounding land and have a light and spacious interior. The kitchen provides all of the necessities and is equipped to cater to large parties with an American style fridge-freezer and two dishwashers in addition to a microwave and range cooker plus oven. The house has five bathrooms and a downstairs WC and the utility room has a washing machine and a dryer. The dining room, complete with a log burner fire, sits up to seventeen people and there’s a drinks room adjacent to the dining room with a spare fridge-freezer and glassware.
The outside of the house is even more gorgeous than the inside and the large garden is a delight to guests all the year round. A gentle stroll around the garden is wonderful enough but there’s also a hot tub, a gas lit barbecue, and multiple seating areas for guests to recline in the tranquillity of the house’s beautiful garden.
