Located in the picturesque coastal town of Kirkcudbright, The Boathouse was built in the 1960s and has now been transformed into a charming bolthole with unbeatable, even unforgettable, views of the river and marina.
Kirkcudbright is a beautiful historic town in the south west of Scotland and tucked away off a lane at the end of the High Street you will find The Boathouse, a place that provides peace and privacy as well as an enviable location just moments from shops, galleries, cafes, pubs, restaurants and general amenities. Recently renovated with new fixtures, fittings and furniture, the house is open-plan and contemporary, and the outlook from the windows (especially at high tide) is nothing short of breath-taking. And on your doorstep you have the rolling hills and rocky coastline of Dumfries & Galloway, just waiting to be explored.
Kirkcudbright is located at the mouth of the River Dee, with a picturesque marina and a working harbour that is used by a local fishing fleet. Known as an artists’ town, Kirkcudbright has long been a retreat for those attracted by its wonderful scenery, pastel coloured buildings and unique quality of light, so there are plenty of galleries to while away the hours in. If you’re feeling energetic you’ll find a swimming pool, tennis courts, squash courts and a golf course nearby, just outside the town there’s an impressive Conservation Park, and it’s a short drive to pony treks, canoeing routes, castles, gardens, forest trails and the sandy beaches of the Solway Coast. You certainly won’t be bored!

There is an open-plan fully-equipped kitchen, dining and living area with a dining table, three comfortable sofas, a TV, a DVD player and a stereo system. There are three bedrooms - two doubles with views across the river and bathrooms nearby and a third twin/double with a porthole window – and a separate studio/sitting room houses a sofa bed, a shower room and its own entrance. There is a small utility room.
French doors from the living room lead out into the jetty where you can read, dine al fresco or watch the yachts coming into the marina. At the front of the house there is a private walled patio with outdoor furniture and a BBQ and at the rear of the house, by the river, is the pier.
Conditions of Rental
One well-behaved pet is welcome for an extra £20 but it must be kept off furniture and out of the bedrooms.
