This charming holiday cottage in eastern Asturias in Spain is in a rural and peaceful setting, yet just 4km from the beach, the Deva Estuary, and with easy access to local services, shops and restaurants. An excellent choice for anyone wanting to explore this lesser known region of Spain.
The cottage is in the easternmost point of Asturias, close to the Cantabrian border and 50km from the world famous Picos de Europa mountains. The original farmhouse has been converted into two separate (semi detached) properties, and sits neatly between the sea and the mountains ideal for both beach lovers, and mountain lovers. Enjoy the nearest beaches of Pechon or La Franca which are just 4km away, or go a little further afield for Oyambre (great for surf lovers) and Torimbia.
There’s a good range of sandy beaches within a few minutes drive of the house. La France, Buelna, Torimbia and Borizo are all on the eastern Asturias coast, or head for the Cantabrian coast which is great for surfing, to San Vicente de la Barquera, Gerra or Oyambre. In Unquera, on the Cantabrian side of the estuary, you’ll find masses of adventure sports on offer including canoeing and horse riding. Golfers will find great courses in Llanes and San Vicente de la Barquera. The nearby sea and rivers make for excellent watersports opportunities, and there are wonderful walking trails, both along the coast and inland. Visit the town of Potes, gateway to the Picos de Europa, visit the Covadonga lakes or the Pindal prehistoric caves. Local restaurants abound where you can try all the delicious local specialties.

Interior Details
The house has two bedrooms and can sleep up to six people. There’s one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, and an additional two beds in the attic room, which can serve as a bedroom, as well as a living room and games room. The kitchen is well equipped, including dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. There’s a dining table and chairs, and a comfortable living area with TV. Internet access throughout. There’s an open fireplace, as well as central heating for the cooler months.
Exterior Details
The house has a charming garden, with a variety of spots to sit and have a coffee, a glass of wine, or to eat a meal al fresco in the Asturian sunshine. There is a BBQ and sun loungers.
