The foodie town of Abergavenny, known as The Gateway to Wales, is 20 minutes by car with its castle, shops and many restaurants from dog friendly eateries to Michelin Guide restaurants. The historic town of Hay on Wye, a famous literary haven, is 30 minutes away with numerous indendent second hand book shops and gift stores. Or venture further afield to Crickhowell, Brecon or Hereford, all within the hour. Nearby attractions include Llanthony valley which has lots to offer. Cistercian Abbey which is just across the country lane. The crooked church at Cymyoy is well worth a look, as is the ancient Partrishow. The Llanthony Valley offers pony trekking in the National Park, Grange Trekking in Capel y Ffin offer treks for all abilities from March October.
