A gloriously romantic hideaway on a private organic estate in rural Somerset. This charming cottage has a private hot tub, beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, and is a short walk to a fantastic pub, and just 30 minutes by car to the beaches of the Jurassic coastline.
There’s an onsite woodland sauna and walking trails which take you straight to the door of an award winning gastro pub. There are a few other cottages on the farm, and a collection of yurts and shepherd's huts. The farm has its very own medieval castle site - Castle Hill - which has 360 degree views across the Somerset countryside. Castle Hill was featured in Time Team 2011 - the dig revealed the footing for the tower, as well as pots, tools and trinkets from everyday life in the 1200s.
If you can drag yourself away from your ultimate relaxation at the cottage, there are lots of things to do and see in the surrounding area. Archery (2 mins), Horseriding Stables (4 mins), Coarse Fishing, (5 mins), Polo (10 mins), Electric bike tours, rib rides, dolphin watching and fishing trips at West Bay (30 mins) , golf (5 mins), paintballing (30 mins), spa at Corscombe (15 mins), cookery classes at Abbots Hill (25 mins). The town of Crewkerne is 2 miles from the cottage and has a good range of shops and supermarkets, as well as a train station with a direct link to London Waterloo. The pretty village of Hinton St George is 1.5 miles away and has an excellent village shop and an award winning gasto pub, as well as a tearoom. The cottage is just 30 minutes from the town of Lyme Regis, where you can go fossil hunting, visit the microbrewery, or browse the many boutiques and second hand shops.
Getting There:
The farm is located just off the A30 and A303 and it takes an hour and a half by road to Bristol and Bath and less than an hour to Exeter, where there is an international airport. There are direct trains from London Waterloo, Salisbury and Exeter to Crewkerne station, which is only a 5 minute taxi ride away.

Interior Details
Croft Cottage is semi detached and can sleep two people in a sumptuous king size bedroom with a freestanding bath from where you can admire the surrounding countryside. There is a large and well equipped kitchen diner with large windows looking out to the spectacular views beyond. The cosy sitting room has TV, DVD and an inglenook fireplace with a log burner. Ancient beams and doors ooze history, whilst the plush interiors, stylish furniture and Egyptian cotton bedding offer a touch of luxury. There is a separate shower room, and a boot room for muddy wellies and outdoor gear. Wifi throughout. Fresh flowers, tea, coffee and biscuits to greet you on arrival.
Exterior Details
Patio doors lead from the cottage to the garden which has a firepit, BBQ and a private hot tub. All guests also have free daily private use of the woodland sauna. Parking outside the cottage.
Conditions of Rental
To secure your booking a deposit is required. For bookings made less than 6 weeks in advance, the total amount is payable on booking. No pets are allowed on site due to the site being located on a working farm. Bookings are from 3pm on the day of arrival to 10am (11am on Sunday) on the day of departure. Timing on winter bookings and short breaks is flexible subject to owners approval.
