Aberdeenshire

Away from the crowds in Northeast Scotland you will find Aberdeenshire, a haven of mountains, coastline, beaches and castles. Aberdeen itself (known as ‘Granite City’) is a wonderful seaside hub which combines cobbled streets and ancient cathedrals with galleries and sand dunes, not to mention cosmopolitan bars and restaurants. And not too far from here you will find the Cairngorms National Park, a huge swathe of natural beauty full of lochs, forests, snowy mountains, cycling trails and pretty, traditional towns like Braemar and Ballater. This would be a sensational setting for a holiday in Aberdeenshire.  Click to view all our holiday cottages in Scotland.

Scotland is known for its castles and no holiday in Aberdeenshire would be complete without a visit to Dunnottar, Fyvie, Kinnaird Head or Duff, to name but a few. Likewise there are distilleries galore as well as some of the best cuisine you’ll ever taste - think Aberdeen Angus beef, rich shortbread, fresh seafood and mouth-watering game. And there are plenty of ways to work up an appetite, from a gentle round of golf and a morning of fishing to an afternoon of kayaking, kitesurfing and mountain biking. Whether you’re wandering round museums and galleries, hiking up rugged peaks, sampling local delicacies or just taking in the view, a holiday in Aberdeenshire is a feast for the senses.
