One of our more romantic holiday rentals in France, Les Belles Etoiles is a rural hideaway just for two in the Centre Val de Loire, with an outdoor bath, nature all around, yet just a 5 minute drive to the nearest village and with masses to do in the surrounding area.
The famous village of Sainte-Sévère-sur-Indre (where Jacque Tati’s film Jour de Fête was shot) is a 5 minute drive from Les Belles Etoiles and has a variety of little shops, as well as a pharmacy, butcher, bar, boulangerie and restaurant. The nearest ‘depot de pain’ is a short cycle away where you can collect your daily croissants. The house is on the border of the Indre and Creuse departments, and there are plenty of things to see and do in the vicinity.
The nearest depot de pain is within cycling distance, or it is a short drive to the village of Sainte-Sévère-sur-Indre, home to a boulangerie, a restaurant, a grocery shop, a tabac, a butcher, a pharmacy and a variety of other small shops. Outdoor pursuits are in plentiful supply, from cycling, walking, golfing and horse-riding to fishing, water sports and zip wiring. Alternatively you could spend your days wandering around vineyards, lying on lake beaches, visiting local markets and exploring towns like La Châtre, Boussac and Aubusson.

Interior Details
This cosy little house is arranged over two floors. The ground floor is filled with light from the large glass doors, and has a modern and well equipped kitchen, a dining table with views into the garden, and a cosy living space. Upstairs the comfy bedroom has two large Velux windows above both sides of the bed so you can stargaze the unpolluted night sky from under the duvet, plus two comfy reading chairs to enjoy your favourite books from. The house is equipped with everything you’re likely to need including linen and towels. And for those who book for 7 nights or more, you’ll find a luxury welcome basket awaiting your arrival.
Exterior Details
There is a large garden which surrounds the house. The rural setting makes it the ideal place for spotting the local wildlife (many different species of birds, as well as pine martens and deer), so it’s heaven for nature lovers. The decking is completely private and has a cast iron freestanding bath on it with lovely countryside views. There is a table and chairs, and a BBQ, so you can eat al fresco, and there’s no light pollution at all which makes for some fabulous stargazing opportunities.
Conditions of Rental
Minimum stay is 7 nights in peak season and 2 nights the rest of the year. Check in from 4pm, check out by 10am. No charging of electric vehicles - this is not covered by our insurance and there is no electricity near the parking space. There are charging points nearby in Sainte-Sévère-sur-Indre and La Châtre.
