When it comes to unique holidays and unusual places to stay, you can’t beat a stay in this 57ft converted fishing trawler. This wooden hulled ship can sleep 4 people and is moored in a private marina in the harbour town of Brixham in Devon’s English Riviera.
Faithful is a unique place to stay for a break away in Devon. This little ship is a beautifully converted fishing trawler which has been refurbished to the highest standard. It’s a 50 tonne wooden hulled ship on one of the best mooring spots in the beautiful and tranquil Brixham Marina. Sumptuous maritime accommodation and views from the decks right across Torbay.
The harbour town of Brixham has lots of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes to investigate and explore. A short stroll will get you to the beach or the town’s huge sea pool. If you want to explore further afield, you can visit Agatha Christie’s former home, take a steam train trip, or visit nearby Dartmouth which is rich with maritime history. The coast path is on your doorstep and offers fantastic trails in both directions, or you can hire a boat and head onto the water for some fishing or sailing.
Detailed driving directions provided on booking. There is a multi storey car park nearby where you can park for free for the duration of your stay. You can park at the marina itself for up to 30 minutes to meet your host and unload your luggage. Faithful is approximately 200m from the entrance to the marina. There are baggage trollies available on the pontoon which you can use (they take a £1 coin).

Interior Details:
The ship can sleep four people in three cabins. The ship is furnished in a seafaring style, with stripes and bunting aplenty. The double cabin has a king sized bed with a roof window above, which is perfect for stargazing on a clear night. There are also two single cabins. There’s a fully equipped kitchen with utensils that used to belong to HMS Ark Royal! There is also a spacious lounge area with lots of room to relax.
Exterior Details:
Up on deck is the perfect place to sit out on a sunny day watching the passing boats and wildlife, and with views across Torbay.
Conditions:
Access onto the trawler is via 3 wooden steps. Please be aware that Faithful moves a bit with the water and the tides, and guests will need to be reasonably agile in order to board and disembark safely. There is safety equipment in the marina. Check in 3pm-5pm. Check out by 11am.
