General Info

The treehouse is part of a Zero Energy Project - it’s a high performance, net zero, low impact hideaway, designed as a piece of contemporary architecture with wellness in mind. It oozes ‘vertical forest’ style with its timber cluster columns and Corten cladding interspersed with strips of Shou Sugi Ban; the ancient Japanese technique used for protecting timbers.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Beyond the treehouse fence, is the forest itself, to explore by foot, by bike, or even by canoe. With the Forest of Dean on your doorstep, there is no shortage of things to do nearby. There is a designated mountain biking area just beyond the Treehouse boundary, with off road areas, downhill runs, as well as the Verderer’s route, which has been named ‘the best blue route in the country’ by Mountain Biking UK. Also on your doorstep is a 20km surfaced track ideal for family biking and walking. If you don’t have bikes with you, there’s bike hire available at the bottom of the hill (or you can get bikes delivered to the door). This is also fabulous walking country, many tracks criss-crossing the forest of Dean, suitable for all abilities. There’s even an option to go walking with llamas! Nearby, the River Wye offers wonderful canoeing and even some rafting, with spectacular views and backdrops. Visit nearby Puzzlewood, an ancient woodland and popular filming location, discover the Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo in Symonds Yat, or enjoy investigating the many superb pubs and restaurants in the area.

Interior Details
The treehouse is an ideal romantic getaway for two but it also has three cabin bunks behind a secret door if you are a family (or group of friends; nb - one of the cabin beds is child sized). The treehouse is arranged over three floors and the building unfolds through the living spaces, balconies, outdoor showers, ponds and roof gardens, with views into the trees from every side. Alongside the fully equipped kitchen and carefully considered interiors, the ground level is given over to a private gym and spa. The main suite has five tall windows on one side which frame an ancient beech wood where wild boar forage for truffles. On the other side, a full height glass screen opens out onto an outdoor shower, facing the rising sun. There is a well equipped sun filled kitchen and a fabulous, unique ‘skybed’ in a glass room perched over the edge of the building with a double bed, and an automatic louvred roof which opens & closes with the elements. The treehouse is arranged over three floors and the building unfolds through the living spaces, balconies, outdoor showers, ponds and roof gardens, with views into the trees from every side. Alongside the fully equipped kitchen and carefully considered interiors, the ground level is given over to a private gym and spa. Come to slow down and enjoy the views, the library of books, films and games, or to embrace the simple pleasure of being up among the trees.

Exterior Details
The treehouse has several decks at a variety of levels. The deck leading out from the bedroom has an open air shower. Head down the solid timber spiral staircase to your own private gym and spa area. There’s a small gym and yoga studio, a sauna, steam room and a luxurious wooden bath for two. From here a timber walkway leads to you a circular infinity pond and a cold water plunge pool.
