A holiday in Slovenia -  mountain hideaways, lakeside living and activity holidays. From the wine country of Styria in the east, to the region of Gorenjska in the north, with its lakes and mountains, Slovenia offer a host of unique stays & quirky accommodation.

If you've got lots of energy, there are many great opportunities for activity holidays in Slovenia: The mountains and rivers of the Julian Alps provide the perfect location for hiking, mountain biking, rafting and kayaking. In season, skiing is very popular here, and much less expensive than on some of the more well known European ski slopes. Find a ski chalet for your holiday in Slovenia in either summer or winter, depending on what activities you want to take part in. There's lots going on for the non skiers too.

Many Slovenian cities and towns bear the imprint of the Habsburg Empire and the Venetian Republic, while up in the Julian Alps you'd almost think you were in Bavaria. September is an excellent month to go on holiday in Slovenia because it's the best time for hiking and climbing, and the summer crowds have vanished. December to March is high-time for skiers, while spring is a good time to be in the lowlands and valleys because everything's in blossom. There are lakes galore where you can rent holiday homes for your holiday in Slovenia - from lakeside villas to more modest huts and participate in all the activities the lakes have to offer.

Although it only has 42km of coast line (squashed as it is between Italy and Croatia), the Slovenian coast is full of colourful Italian-style fishing villages, olive groves and clean, clear water. A holiday in Slovenia is an idyllic place to go for a slice of Mediterranean sunshine, and there are enough holiday rental properties in that 42km for you to find one to suit you!
