Family friendly, and ideal for larger group holidays too, here you’re surrounded by 260 acres of organic farmland, woodland and trails. There are five safari tents on this glampsite on a farm at Kittisford Barton set amongst unspoilt Somerset countryside. Well spaced from one another, and overlooking the wildflower meadow, each has a private deck and the option of a two person hot tub to enjoy during your stay. Perfect for stargazing! No electricity allows for an immersive, reconnecting experience with friends and family. Children will love to collect fresh eggs from the chickens in the orchard or meet the friendly goats. From here you can enjoy walks in the surrounding Blackdown Hills AONB, or explore further afield to historic towns, attractions or the coastlines of Somerset and Devon.
Your glamping location is well placed for exploring the coasts of both Devon and Somerset. Within a one hour drive you can reach the sandy beaches of Minehead, and the salt marshes of Bridgwater Bay Nature Reserve which is a must for birdwatchers. Head south to visit the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and hunt for fossils on the beaches around Lyme Regis. Inland there’s also lots to explore. The West Somerset Heritage Steam Railway is less than 30 minutes from the glampsite. Visit the caves at Cheddar Gorge, head to Exeter’s Haldon Forest for zip wires and Segway adventures, admire English Heritage owned Cleeve Abbey, or enjoy the many countryside walks and village pubs.
Getting There:
Kittisford Barton is set amongst the stunning scenery of Somerset, just half an hour west of Taunton. Though surrounded by unspoilt countryside, the site is just 10 minutes from junction 26 of the M5, making it easily accessible and well located for local amenities.

Interior Details
Each tent can sleep up to six people in three bedrooms - one king, one twin and one bunk room. All bedding is supplied and there’s clothes storage in all the bedrooms. Travel cots are available for a small additional charge and can be added in any bedroom. The tent has a comfortable sitting area with a sofa, coffee table and a wood burning stove. The dining area has a table with seating for up to six people. The kitchen is well equipped with a sink, double gas hob, cooking equipment, cutlery and crockery, and a cool box for storing food (with free ice packs available from the site shop). Candles and lanterns are supplied. There is a separate WC and shower room with hot and cold running water. Towels are provided.
Exterior Details
Each tent has a private deck with outdoor seating and a coffee table with views of the Blackdown Hills. There is a firepit in front of each tent - ideal for BBQs and a private wood fired hot tub for each tent.
Conditions
Check in from 4pm, check out by 10am. Prices include all bed linen and towels, as well as unlimited wood for use in your firepit / BBQ for the duration of your stay. Travel cots and highchairs available on request for a small additional charge. Up to four well behaved dogs per tent are welcomed for a small additional charge. Please note this is an off grid experience with no electricity on site. Light is provided by candles, portable lamps and solar powered lighting.
