The Kentmere Valley is a narrow valley surrounded by a horseshoe of high fells, located to the east of Lake Windermere. Kentmere is reached from the village of Staveley along a lane that winds its way up to the head of the valley and to the village of Kentmere with its historic church and whitewashed cottages scattered across the hillside.
