General Info
One of England’s prettiest coastal villages and therefore the perfect place for love, this gorgeous cottage which tucks away only a minute’s walk from the harbour, piles on the romance.
Inside, the styling, furnishings and colour choices feel very high-end, with vaulted ceilings adding a sense of space to the living area, and floor-to-ceiling glass in the bedroom infusing the rooms with natural light. A small dining table invites unhurried meals, and a window seat forms the perfect perch for a cup of tea and a magazine. The bedroom is a dream. Calm and luxurious, with a Feather & Black king-size Provencal bed, layered textiles, a big armoire, and a plunge bath that tucks into a dark-tiled alcove. A fabulous Harrison Spinks mattress lends itself to a restful night’s sleep (and a long lie-in for a slower start to the morning). Perfectly suited to year-round stays, there’s a wood-burning stove and underfloor heating for cooler days, and a south-facing Mediterranean-inspired courtyard garden with furniture and a parasol for sunny weather.
With stunning views of Mounts Bay on constant display, Mousehole harbour and seafront are a joy. There are a number of exceptional cafes, delis and restaurants to choose from for any time of day, as well as lifestyle stores and curio shops to peruse. The coast path to Lamorna Cove runs nearby and is a lovely route for guests with dogs, offering beautiful views out to sea and across the coastline. Neighbouring Newlyn has even more independent shops, galleries and restaurants to explore, and is just a couple of minutes’ drive away, while Penzance and its heated Art Deco lido lie a little further along the coast. For beach days, Mousehole Harbour is wonderful, but there are more beaches to choose from within 30 minutes’ drive of the village, such as Porthcurno, Marazion, Praa Sands and Hayle.
