As North Wales' first Georgian Italian-style villa, it was once home to Romantic Poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. Located in the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, Plas Tan-Yr-Allt is perfectly situated for exploring North Wales. Just a short drive away is the world-famous Italianate village of Portmeirion, designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, whose family had strong connections to the house. The Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, a major tourist attraction, are only 5 minutes away, offering scenic steam train journeys. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy nearby hiking & biking trails, including routes up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). Local historic sites such as Harlech Castle and Criccieth Castle are easily accessible. The beautiful sandy beaches of Borth-y-Gest & Black Rock Sands are also within a 10-minute drive. The charming village of Tremadog, with its award-winning restaurant Y Sgwar, is a short 10-minute walk or 2-minute taxi ride.

The B&B is located in Tremadog, Porthmadog, accessible by car with free on-site parking. Inputting 'Tremadog' into the Sat Nav & following the pre-arrival travel directions is recommended. Nearest train station is Porthmadog, 20-minute walk or 5 min taxi.

Nearest Restaurant:
Y Sgwar (Award-winning ‘Best Restaurant in Wales’ in Tremadog village, 2-minute taxi ride or 10-minute short walk)

Nearest Beach:
Borth-y-Gest or Black Rock Sands (10-minute drive)

Plas Tan-Yr-Allt is set within 40 acres of private ancient woodlands, offering recommended walks directly from the house. Perched high on a hillside, the property boasts stunning, long-lensed views across the Glaslyn Estuary, the Ffestiniog Steam Railway line, & beyond to Harlech Castle & the Rhinogydd mountains. Guests can relax & soak up the spectacular scenery from the well-maintained garden or the outdoor veranda, which is furnished for relaxation. Free on-site self-parking is available, & the setting provides a tranquil and visually inspiring retreat.

Conditions:
Plas Tan-Yr-Allt is an Adults-Only establishment & is Not Pet Friendly (No pets allowed). Unfortunately, due to the historic nature of the property & its hillside location, it is Not Wheelchair Accessible or suitable for guests with mobility issues. Check-in is generally from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with check-out by 10:30 AM. The property is non-smoking throughout. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout.
