Located high in the Staffordshire Moorlands offering breath taking views across the valley to Tittesworth Reservoir and The Roaches, a dramatic ridge line dominating the surrounding moorland. Guests can feel part of nature, waking up to the sound of skylarks, lapwing and curlews, enjoy the sound of bees from the garden and watch the ever changing cloudscape. The cottage is reached via a short private drive and is located next to the owner's farmhouse. The property can be booked with Hen Cottage.
Up a flight of stone steps, guests find themselves in the open-plan living space of the property with cosy wood burner. Deep windows shed light on the exposed stonework, vintage furniture and wood beams, giving the property brightness and character. This combined with the well-equipped kitchen complete with a breakfast bar made from an old shop counter, long sofa makes this loft the perfect place to return after a day's exploring or for those who just want to nestle in for a truly relaxing stay. There is a stunning private balcony off the kitchen which is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy the unbroken far reaching views of the Peak District. The bedroom is accessed via a single step from the living space. The high ceiling and whitewashed stone wall make this a light and airy bedroom, with a super-king-size bed which can be split into two single beds if requested at the time of booking. An en-suite bathroom with a shower, hand basin and WC with a view perfectly completes this holiday hideaway.
Guests can enjoy the outside on their private balcony with seating, relax, and enjoy the panoramic views. The owners have a variety of animals including free range poultry. Their dog, a lovable bearded collie called Weaver, is usually around and about. Weaver is keen to greet and play with other canine visitors. This property's eco credentials include solar power and a biomass boiler. To keep the property as energy efficient as possible it feature triple glazing and extra insulation in the walls. The owners are passionate about the environment, which can be seen in their wildlife friendly garden with wildflowers, which uses no pesticide or fertiliser, and furnishing the property with upcycled furniture
