General Info
This charming home is nestled in a peaceful location in the heart of Clyro, a quaint village on the Welsh border, just 1 mile from the bustling town of Hay-on-Wye, renowned for its cafes, restaurants, and famous bookshops. Enjoy scenic walks along the River Wye, or visit The Warren, a lovely spot for wild swimming. The Wye Valley and Offa’s Dyke trails pass through Hay-on-Wye, offering endless opportunities for exploration. For those who love the outdoors, the breathtaking landscapes of the Brecon Beacons National Park are nearby, with trails leading to Hay Bluff and Twmpa. Additionally, the rugged terrain of the Begwns, a National Trust area, offers stunning views of the Beacons, the Wye Valley, and the serene Radnorshire hills to the north.

The cottage features a lit, stepped pathway leading to the rear entrance. Step into the garden room, perfect for unwinding with a book or enjoying a simple meal at the dining table. From here, you’ll find the spacious kitchen/diner, equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. The dining area comfortably seats five. At the front of the cottage, the cosy lounge awaits, complete with low ceilings, a plush sofa and armchair, a wood burner (with the first basket of logs provided), and a TV, ideal for relaxing after a day of adventures. Off the lounge is a small snug with an armchair, reading lamp, a well-stocked bookcase, and a desk - an ideal retreat for some quiet time. A door from the lounge leads to the winding cottage stairs, which open onto a bright landing and three spacious bedrooms: a large double room with views of the garden, a twin room with beds that can be converted into a double upon request, and a single room. The bathroom features a separate shower, bath, and WC.

Outside, the large wildlife garden runs along Clyro Brook, with meandering paths through the meadow grass and numerous peaceful spots to relax and take in the tranquil surroundings. The patio area, with a table and chairs, overlooks a charming waterfall near the original ‘ty bach’. In the evenings, you can enjoy the dark skies by lighting the fire pit and sitting on one of the woodland benches. The property also offers off-road parking for two cars and storage for bicycles.
