Chy Yar Nissen Hut in a Farm Setting (dog friendly)
Originally a Nissen Hut, Chy Yar has been converted to provide spacious and pet friendly holiday accommodation for up to six people. Set on a 25 acre farm not far from Liskeard in South Cornwall, this is an ideal place for dog lovers to holiday, close to all the attractions and sites and in a beautiful rural setting. This property is part of our holidays in Cornwall collection of unique and unusual places to stay.
Boturnell Farm has a long history and is reputed to have been mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Now it’s a 25 acre farm with a collection of holiday lets, specifically created for those holidaying with their pets. On site guests and their pets can explore the private woodland and meet the animals, many of which are rescue animals - an alpaca, horses, cats, pigs, ducks and chickens, to name just a few. The farm is not far from Looe, Polperro and Bodmin Moor.
Nissen Huts were originally invented in WW1 and built as housing for troops. They are made from corrugated iron placed over a wood and steel frame. Today many of them have been restored and reimagined as holiday lets, home offices and animal shelters.
The farm is set in the beautiful Cornish countryside, with easy access to both Cornwall and Devon. There are many places to visit - beautiful beaches, moorland and ancient fishing harbours are all close by. St Pinnock itself is a small village near the historic market town of Liskeard to the east and the town of Lostwithiel to the west. The larger towns of St Austell and Plymouth are under 30 mins away. Also a short drive away are the well known and charming coastal villages of Looe and Polperro, and the famous harbour of Charlestown.
