Couples will love a slow morning at Glamis Castle (15 miles), strolling its grand gardens before driving to Lunan Bay (24 miles) for a windswept beach walk. If you have the kids with you, they’re sure to love playing pirates at Peter Pan Park (5.5 miles).

The sofa can be converted into a double sofa bed for two children if required. The double bed sits at the back of the lodge, as does the shower room with WC.
