One-Off Feature

A traditional stone mountain barn in the Pineta Valley in Spain.  Surrounded by nature, and close to the charming village of Bielsa & the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, it’s an ideal place for couples, families or groups of friends to enjoy the Aragon Pyrenees whatever the season.  This property is part of our holidays in Spain collection of handpicked unique and unusual places to stay.

General Info

The barn sits in its own grounds with stunning mountain views and is set in nature but directly accessible from the road.    An excellent base for exploring mountains, with trails starting right from the barn itself.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

The Pineta Valley is an ideal place to experience the mountains, with adventures beginning right at the barn. Just steps away, the Cornato trail is an easy, mostly flat walk through beech woods alongside the Cinca River.  From the barn, the road continues to the end of the valley, opening onto routes such as the hike to Llanos del Larri or the Cinca waterfalls. A stop at the Parador Nacional is highly recommended, especially to enjoy a drink on its terrace overlooking the impressive Pineta Cirque and the Monte Perdido massif.  The surrounding villages—Espierba, Bielsa, Javierre, Chisagüés, and Parzán—are also worth visiting for their traditional Pyrenean architecture. In Bielsa, the ethnographic museum offers a glimpse into everyday life in the valley’s past.  During winter, the area is perfect for snowshoeing and Nordic skiing in the Pineta nordic zone, while alpine skiing is available at Piau Engaly, roughly a 45-minute drive away.  Current information on trails and activities can be found at the National Park office or at the tourist office in Bielsa’s main square.
