Family Friendly Cottage in a Waterfront Setting
Set on Market Street and within metres of Fore Street and the water’s edge, here you’ll have the best of the south coast at your fingertips.
Positioned above the shops leading down to the quay, this holiday home is light-filled and airy with crisp, modern décor. The entrance hallway on the ground floor leads upstairs to a light-filled open-plan living area where you’ll find space to unwind, cook and share meals together.
The home’s four bedrooms are arranged over the top two floors. On the second floor above the living area, there are two double bedrooms (one of which has an en-suite shower room), and a modern family bathroom, while on the top floor is another double bedroom and a single room with bunk beds – the perfect set-up for families with younger children in tow.
With its unbeatable location and easy access to Fowey’s brilliant cafés, galleries, and restaurants, the property is a dream. Right opposite the front door is the aquarium, and less than a minute’s stroll away is the waters edge where you can catch a ferry over to Polruan or simply enjoy the scenes of boats gliding across the estuary. If you fancy a meal out, grab a really good lunch or dinner at The King of Prussia which is just two doors down.
Nearby you’ll discover many wonderful beaches including Readymoney Cove which is a flat stroll along the Esplanade, Polkerris Beach which is a 10-minute drive, and Par Sands which is under 15 minutes’ drive. For those who enjoy walking, the coast path offers scenic routes above Lantic Bay or to St Catherine’s Castle which is just above Readymoney Cove. Fore Street is a stone’s throw from the apartment where you’ll find clothing shops and independent boutiques, while the town’s many excellent restaurants like Pintxo Fowey and The Old Quay House are under 5 minutes’ walk.
This apartment is above a shop on Market Street
Quaint, atmospheric and picture-perfect. If you like your Cornwall holidays set against a backdrop of dreamy waterside scenery and beautifully preserved historic buildings, the harbour town of Fowey is where you’ll want to be. A picturesque harbour with stunning estuary views as well as a traditional Cornish town atmosphere make Fowey holidays the quintessential seaside getaway in south Cornwall.
Located on the west bank of the Fowey Estuary in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the town’s harbour is a bustling hive of activity during the summer months where its sheltered waters become home to a plethora of boats of all shapes and sizes.
Visitors can enjoy a meander through the narrow, winding streets of the old town, soaking up the atmosphere of authentic village life with a variety of boutique-style shops and galleries to peruse as well as a selection of restaurants and eateries to choose from.
The town has an interesting maritime history as well as an illustrious literary connection with the like of Daphne du Maurier, Rosamunde Pilcher and many more including the successful Poldark series, and there are frequent ferries to Polruan, a fascinating village with sweeping views from the top of Polruan Hill.
