New Book Club Retreat Venue | One Off Places
Westbrook Court Country House, one of Herefordshire’s most distinctive contemporary rural stays, is leaning into the new “Read Away” travel trend and is proud to announce its new position as a dedicated Book Club Retreat Venue.
A New Type of Retreat
Westbrook Court is inviting reading groups, writing cohorts and literary-minded friends and creative communities to gather in the heart of the Golden Valley just outside of literary Hay on Wye, a town famous for it's bookshops. In addition to continuing to appeal for family celebration stays, stag and hens plus retreat stays too! Nestled between Hay-on-Wye and the Black Mountains, Westbrook Court Country House has long been known for its contemporary-rustic interiors, expansive countryside views, and relaxed, design-led hospitality - both for holiday makers, celebration makers and retreat facilitators. With the rise in group escapes centred around shared interests, Westbrook Court is now opening its doors to “Read Away” book clubs and writing groups seeking an inspiring place to connect, read, write and recharge.
Why it has been turned into a Book Club & Writers Retreat Venue
“Westbrook Court Country House has always attracted guests who want space to slow down, think, and reconnect,” says Kari Trajer Morgan, Owner and Interior Designer. “Turning our home into a Book Club & Writers Retreat Venue feels like a natural evolution — especially as we’re surrounded by such a rich literary heritage with numerous authors and poets on our doorstep - we've quite a varied collection on our library shelves now!”
