One-Off Feature

The Tudor Barn is a magnificent Grade II* listed 16th century barn set on a 500 acre family farm amongst the Suffolk Wool Villages and within easy distance of London.  This UK accommodation for large groups in Suffolk can sleep up to 24 people and is a fantastic setting for a group gathering of friends or family.  Play tennis, wander along woodland and countryside trails, dress up in Tudor costume, or take one of the provided road bikes and explore the local area.  This is a great space for all-female groups such as civilised hens, book clubs and yoga groups.

General Info

The Tudor barn with adjoining cartlodge provides an atmospheric space and is perfect large group accommodation in Suffolk. It is huge - a great, flexible, space for gathering peacefully, celebrating, feasting, dancing, playing games around the woodburner in winter and in summer playing tennis or croquet in the herb garden or borrowing bikes to explore the area.  Families can try some ideas from the family activity pack – build a den, put a meadow in a matchbox, do tree hugging, leaf weaving or pond dipping.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

There’s masses to do both on and off the farm.  Wander around the farm trails through woods and meadows, picnic by a pond, or borrow the laminated circular walking route leaflets and set off exploring a bit further afield.   The barn has its own fleet of 24 adult road bikes for those aged over 16 (weight <15 stone).  Serious cyclists and children do please bring your own.  You can explore the local villages on routes that take in nature reserves and pubs, or explore the historic Wool Towns and villages with a bike trail quiz.  You can go kayaking and paddle boarding on the River Stour, hire rowing boats, shop for antiques or try your hand at shooting, archery or fly fishing.  There are National Trust properties nearby, as well as local museums and art galleries.  On the farm itself you’ll find ancient barns, brick walls,  old farm machinery, ancient flower-rich meadows, arable crops, as well as lambs and piglets at various times of the year - this is an excellent example from our collection of unique stays in Suffolk.
