A gloriously romantic retreat, one of our most unique stays in Tuscany. Set high on a hillside with breathtaking views over the Garfagnana Valley, it’s a perfect bolthole for two. This dog friendly holiday cottage is excellently placed for exploring the delights of Tuscany.
From the terrace and cottage windows you can see at least six old churches, as well as the surrounding forests, and the whole of the walled city of Lucca. It really is a stunning setting to kick back and relax. It’s not always easy to find dog friendly holiday cottages, but this place is not just dog friendly, it positively encourages your four legged friends! The terrace is fully enclosed and gated with railings over 1m high. The floors inside are all terracotta. Dog bowls, towels and treats provided.
The cottages is 20 minutes north west of the town of Lucca and 45 minutes from Pisa airport. You will not be short of things to do and places to visit during your stay, providing you can drag yourself away from the terrace views…. Lucca itself is an absolute gem, with its historic centre and cobbled streets. The Renaissance walls have tree lined pathways along the tops of the ramparts which make for a lovely walk or bike ride (you can hire bikes easily just inside the city walls at Porta di Santa Maria). Lucca is also home to wonderful shops, bars and restaurants. Further afield you can visit the pretty town of Bagni di Lucca, deep in the Garfagna Valley, or perhaps the pretty hilltop village of Montecarlo with its snow capped mountain views - both within a half an hour drive. The famous city of Pisa is less than an hour from Casa Trebbio, as are the two seaside resorts of Montereggiano and Forte di Marmi.

Interior Details
Casa Trebbio is a perfect romantic bolthole for two people. Much of the furniture in the house has been bought at auction in the UK and brought over to Italy. The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped with an electric cooker, induction hob, and fridge with freezer compartment. It has thick oak worktops and a variety of appliances. There is an oak dining table and comfy leather chairs, as well as an open log fire. There’s a large leather sofa and Smart TV in the living room, and a range of quirky antique shop and auction finds from Suffolk. The bedroom has a walnut bed with high quality bedlinen. The bathroom has a simply glorious view, along with a roll top claw footed bath and a wet room shower. The house has wifi, heating and aircon throughout.
Exterior Details
The house has a fully enclosed terrace with outstanding views. There’s a pizza oven and BBQ, and a large granite table and chairs for eating al fresco. There is a pair of sun loungers for relaxing and reading.
Conditions
Tuscan pizza welcome pack provided including all the base ingredients for making pizza, plus a bottle of wine. Tea and coffee also supplied. Up to three well dogs are welcome for a small additional fee. Bedding and towels included. Please note - the house is a ten minute drive up a very winding road with lots of bends. Parking is by the roadside, and then you walk up a steep path to get to the house.
