The champagne is on us! There's a free bottle of bubbly if you book for New Year, as well as our usual Cornish welcome pack and fresh flowers. In Hayle and close to St Ives, Harvey is the perfect place to celebrate with family and friends.
Nestled in over half an acre of gardens, Harvey is a beautifully converted 1950s corridor coach which offers a heady nostalgia trip back to the magical days of steam trains. Retaining almost all of its original British Rail features, Harvey is totally unique. A stay in a train carriage is one of the most memorable things you will ever do!
The coach is set in the coastal town of Hayle in West Cornwall, just one stop from the branch line to St Ives and a short stroll from 3 miles of golden sands.Harvey has been thoughtfully converted but it also manages to retain all the charm and quirkiness of its glory days. Think compartments, lamp shades and luggage racks, as well as original mirrors and upholstery. A railway carriage holiday really is a trip down memory lane!
Situated on the North coast of Penwith in the far West of Cornwall, Hayle is a thriving town with lots to interest all ages. Miles of dunes and golden sand make it perfect for a beach holiday, not to mention a popular spot with surfers, and the area is criss-crossed with footpaths and cycling trails. This part of Cornwall has a wealth of archaeological heritage (Penwith itself is peppered with stone circles, quoits and burial chambers) and the artistic hub of St Ives is just down the road. You could bird watch in the Hayle Estuary, take the children to see the otters and penguins at Paradise Park, go horse riding or fishing, wander round gardens and National Trust properties, or spend a day on the Scilly Isles. Hayle itself has retained its individual character and has a good selection of pubs, restaurants, cafes and takeaways, as well as supermarkets and specialist food shops.
Directions provided on booking. The train station is beside the site and we also offer
Harvey was originally conceived as two lets, but now is only ever let to one party at a time. This gives great flexibility when coming on holiday with extended family and friends, as each end has its own kitchen, living room and toilet/shower facilities. For a romantic break for two, or for smaller parties, the East End can be booked alone and the West End left empty. The East End has a double bedroom and bunk room so can comfortably host families of up to six. Add the West End for an additional
