A pair of gloriously appointed shepherd’s huts on a farm in the Peak District National Park in Staffordshire. Each hut sleeps two and has magical views over the Manifold Valley and is a short drive to Dovedale and Milldale. Heaven for walkers and nature lovers!
Lowes Farm is in the southern part of the Peak District in Staffordshire. Many people think of the Peak District as being just in Derbyshire, but the southern part is equally beautiful, with open, hilly countryside. If you want to get back to basics and experience true rural life, then this is a wonderful way of doing it. On the farm you might be lucky enough to spot badgers (there’s a sett which is over 100 years old), hares and foxes.
You will not be short of things to do and places to go during your stay at Lowes Farm. For lovers of the outdoors, walking and cycling, you will love the opportunities here. The farm is just 5 minutes from the Manifold Trail and 20 minutes from Dovedale. If you’re looking for more thrills, then Alton Towers is just 8 miles away.

There are two shepherd’s huts: Shirley & Doris. Shirley sleeps 2 in a double bed and Doris can sleep up to 3 in one double and one single bed. Designed to keep you snug whatever the weather, the outer walls are made of strong corrugated steel lined with a wooden framework, and the interior is insulated between the wooden walls with natural sheeps wool which is both environmentally sound, as well as being fire retardant and warm! Bed linen, towels, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery are all provided. (And hot water bottles to keep you snug on chillier nights!) . Each hut has its own loo, with additional washing facilities in a separate barn a short distance away. Each hut also has a grill and a log burner with small stove, and a cool box with freezer packs. The barn also has a washing up area, a lockable cupboard for each hut, power sockets and charging ports, as well as a freezer.
Outside, miles and miles of wonderful views! Outside your hut there is also a fire pit for cooking or toasting marshmallows! Off road parking and indoor lockable bike storage if required.
Aside from other animals, Lowes Farm also has its own flock of Ouessant sheep - the smallest breed of sheep in the world, on average growing to only 17 inches tall! They are hardy little creatures, originating from an island off the coast of France. They are very people friendly and curious, and we are sure you will enjoy meeting them!
