The house has high ceilings, big windows, a private patio and all the amenities you could need for a relaxing stay. There are grocery stores, bars, restaurants and even an award-winning bakery within walking distance. And nearby there are museums, forests, bird sanctuaries, walking paths, cycle trails, fun parks and lots of opportunities for discovering the beauty and history of the Drenthe, Overijssel and Friesland regions. The delightful village of Diever is home to bars, restaurants and shops, as well as a 14th century church and an award-winning bakery. And you can sail or fish at Giethoorn (the Venice of the north), visit the provincial capital of Assen (25 minutes away), or just while away the days picnicking, bathing, horse riding and learning more about the region’s rich heritage.
A car is recommended though not essential, with easy access to the towns of Hoogeveen (20 minutes), Assen (25 minutes), Emmen (45 minutes) and the city of Groningen (40 minutes).
