A pretty shepherd`s hut for two tucked away on a working cattle farm near Hay on Wye in Herefordshire.  It has beautiful views of the Golden Valley, is cosy and well equipped and offers you easy access to the delights of the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains.  The ultimate antidote to busy lives!

General Info

The hut is a mile outside the village of Dorstone which has a pub and shop, and is seven miles from the well known market town of Hay on Wye.  There are footpaths right from the door, and lots to do in the surrounding area. The Shepherds hut is beautifully well thought out, with handmade furniture and fittings, ample storage, a proper bathroom and a little kitchen area. 

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

The huts are close to the charming town of Hay on Wye, which is on the border of Wales and England (Powys and Herefordshire).  It’s known as the ‘town of books’ and the famous annual literary festival takes place there.  To the south of Hay on Wye are the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons.  The town also boasts boutiques and antique shops galore, as well as art galleries and a great collection of cafes and restaurants.  It sits right on the River Wye so you can go fishing or kayaking.  Or stay on land and enjoy the wonderful hiking, biking, horse riding or even gliding.  There’s plenty on offer for sightseers too including a great array of castles, churches and monuments to explore.

Accommodation Details

Interior Details

The kitchen area is equipped with a sink, a combi microwave and grill, two ring hob and fridge.  There’s a fold out table and two chairs.  At one end of the cabin is a double bed with wonderful views over the cattle fields to the Golden Valley beyond.  There is storage under the bed as well as a handmade built in wardrobe for your clothes.  At the other end of the cabin is the bathroom with shower, toilet and hand basin.  The total size of the shepherd`s hut is approximately 20ft x 7ft.

Exterior Details

There is a pretty lawn terrace outside the cabin with flowery borders and magnificent views.  Ample parking and lights to light your way from your car to the cabin.


Linen, towel, electricity and running water provided.  No dogs / pets.
