Situated at the southernmost end of a coast road with views out onto a secluded bay, Tigh A Bhroc is a spacious and comfortable house offering peace, privacy and unrestricted access to the rocky shore at its front.
Whether you’re a couple, a family or a group of friends, Tigh A Bhroc is a tranquil getaway in a unique and beautiful spot. The house itself is large yet cosy, with the most wonderful views over Loch Toscaig towards the Isle of Skye, and the setting - literally a stone’s throw from the shoreline – is fantastic, whether you want to get onto the water or just gaze out over it. The house feels very private, but the village of Applecross is just 4 miles away, and the area is full of things to see and do. Whatever the season, this is a stunning place.
Applecross is a real hub for outdoor activities, from walking, cycling and climbing to sea kayaking, fishing and mountaineering. Bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts love spotting seals, porpoises, whales, otters and golden eagles, and day trips to the Torridon Mountains and to the Isle of Skye are well within range. The village itself is home to the renowned Applecross Inn and to The Walled Garden restaurant at Applecross House, there are cafes and inns at Shieldaig, Torridon and Lochcarron, and nearby Camusteil has a local shop and post office.
The Applecross peninsula is in the North West Scottish Highlands. Applecross can be reached by road from both Edinburgh via Inverness and Glasgow via Fort William. Alternatively it is possible to take a train from Edinburgh to Inverness and hire a car for the final part of the journey. There is also Inverness Airport, which is used by a number of the low cost airlines.
Nearest Train Station:
Strathcarron (50 mins)
The shoreline is at the bottom of the garden! Next nearest beach is 15km away.
Camusteil, or there is a weekly mobile butcher and grocer in Toscaig
The house has three king size bedrooms (one has two additional single beds) all of which face south towards the Isle of Skye. The open-plan sitting room has sliding doors that take in the spectacular view, a stove, a TV/DVD player, the kitchen/diner boasts an electric range cooker, and off the kitchen is a larder/utility room. Beyond the kitchen there is an extra sitting room/play room, and the house has two bathrooms.
The house has a private garden with direct access to the shoreline (ideal for canoeists) and the front lawn has a sunken stone seating area overlooking the sea. There is a fire bowl which can be used to barbeque.
