Sheltered by rugged headlands with panoramic views across the golden sands and blue waters of Freshwater Bay in Pembrokeshire, this colonial-style beach house offers contemporary comfort in a simply sensational seaside setting. If you're looking for a holiday house in Wales for a large group of friends or family, then this is an unbeatable choice.
With its spacious stylish interiors, 21st century technology, sea-view balcony, infinity swimming pool, shoreline setting and vistas that have to be seen to be believed, this is surely the ultimate coastal holiday home. When the weather is warm you can play on the beach just below the house, explore the magnificent Pembrokeshire Coast Path, bathe on the sheltered suntrap pool deck and sip chilled drinks on the veranda. And on those wet and windy days you can cosy up in front of the log fire, hang out in the games room and watch the surfers put on a show right outside your window as you listen to the waves crash. Whether you’re here for a family getaway or a relaxed retreat with friends, the Sandcastle is truly a ‘one off place’ in every sense of the word.
South Pembrokeshire is a magical location for a holiday and Freshwater East is the perfect base from which to discover it. It would be easy to while away the days on the beach in front of the house or the dunes behind it, and the village is home to a pub/restaurant so there’s really no need to go anywhere if you don’t want to. But the coast path in either direction is not to be missed - east to Swanlake Bay and Manorbier, or west to Stackpole Quay and the famously beautiful Barafundle. Two miles away the village of Lamphey offers a small shop, a traditional pub and two restaurants, and in the area you can enjoy numerous water sports, from sailing and canoeing to surfing and water skiing. If you fancy a day trip, the medieval walled town of Pembroke with its majestic castle, shops and tea rooms, is just 4 miles away.
Nearby Lamphey has a ‘request stop’ railway station running services from Pembroke Dock to Paddington. If you’re driving there is ample off-road parking available.

The house has seven en-suite sea-facing bedrooms, including a ground floor Master with spa bath and private balcony and a honeymoon suite with a four poster bed. The kitchen boasts a 6-burner range cooker, so catering for the masses is easy, and the homemade dining table seats 12 (with a spare table for children if necessary). And the wide open-sided living room is beautifully furnished with a log fires, several comfy sofas, and a Smart TV/WiFi. The recreation room is home to table tennis and a ¾ size snooker table.
At the back of the house, you enter through a sub-tropical walled garden and a veranda with a hammock and rocking chairs and at the front there is a wonderful glass-covered balcony with uninterrupted ocean views and a BBQ. Below, there is a beach garden with steps that lead directly to the sand, and next to the house you will find an all-weather, ecologically-heated saltwater infinity pool which allows access from inside the house and swimming under the motorised enclosure in the colder months. There is also a bespoke steam room in which to relax.
