Set on a 12.5 acre property within the beautiful Aquitaine region of France, these six luxurious safari tents offer a true glamping experience in a stunning bucolic location. Good food, good company and peaceful surroundings - what more could you want?
This region is sometimes referred to as the ‘Tuscany of France’ and it isn’t hard to see why. Rolling hills and winding rivers mix with sunflower fields, wine chateaux and authentic villages to create a perfect setting for a relaxing holiday, and there’s no better place from which to experience it than Simply Canvas. The safari tents are cosy and comfortable, with views over the fields and everything you could need for stress-free stay. Within the grounds there is a communal swimming pool and plenty of space for the children to run around and explore. And nearby there are abundant castles, vineyards and farmers’ markets. Whoever you’re here with, you’re sure to unwind and make memories.
This is a charming and authentic part of France and from your doorstep you can join walks through vineyards and sunflower fields. The closest bakery is within walking distance and there is a tiny supermarket just a 5 minute drive away, or the bastide villages of Eymet, Miramont, Duras and St Foy la Grande (home to larger shops, markets, and restaurants) are 10-15 minutes from the property. There are lots of wine-producing castles in the area, not to mention rivers and lakes to swim and canoe in, or you could take a day trip to St Emilion (45 minutes), Bordeaux (1.5 hours) or medieval Sarlat (2 hours).
Bergerac airport is just 35 minutes away or you there are lots of flights into Bordeaux. Sainte Foy la Grande is the nearest train station, 15 minutes away, and driving directions can be provided.

Each tent has four beds, a dining table and chairs and a sitting area, and there is a brand new bathroom building a few steps away (within which every tent has its own bathroom area). Mosquito nets, hot water bottles and blankets are provided, or you can rent a gas heater for cooler nights. Every tent has a private veranda which looks out across the fields, and nearby there is a large former cow barn which is now used as a breakfast space as well as a place to make coffee and tea and store things in the fridge.
About 800 feet away from the tents you will find a large enclosed communal swimming pool and within the surrounding fields there are also benches, swings and hammocks. There are plentiful fruit trees bursting with cherries, figs and plums.
There is 20 acres of land surrounding the property which is designed according to permaculture principles, a self sustainable way of gardening. The owners have set out a tour where you discover lots of edible plants and trees, you are introduced to a glass beehive and other small farm animals like chickens, ducks and pigs, picks your own leaves in the tea garden and get inspiration on water saving gardening techniques.
