General Info

Seemingly set in the middle of nowhere yet just a few miles from some of Derbyshire’s most picturesque and historic towns, Roaches Cottage is the perfect blend of the traditional and the contemporary. Historic features like beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls, stone flagged floors, Belfast sinks and a log burning stove abound, giving the cottage an unmistakeable air of warmth and character. And all around you there are heritage houses, nature trails and welcoming village pubs. It’s the perfect base from which to explore everything the Peak District has to offer.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Just a few miles away is Leek with its splendid Victorian buildings, cobbled streets and mill shops, and a little further on you will find Bakewell, Buxton and Hartington as well as the world famous Wedgewood, Spode and Royal Doulton potteries. Trips to the nearby National Trust houses are a must, or you could take a barge trip along the Caldon Canal and a steam train ride from Cheddleton. Alternatively there are lots of walking trails to explore and you can finish the day in either the Rock Inn or the Lazy Trout pub.
