Set in a unique and unspoilt location on a green peninsula by the Sava River near Lake Bled in Slovenia, this family-run glampsite is home to 25 deluxe alpine cottage which all have one thing in common: an abundance of nature, space and comfort.
Wonderfully close to the picturesque lake it is named after and far enough from the tourist highways to feel like you’re in a different world, River Camping Bled is a haven of fresh air, wild swimming, cosy accommodation and conviviality. The cottages are spacious, luxurious and well-equipped, with a distinctly alpine feel about them. The setting - lush, pristine and with views of the Karavanke Mountains - is truly breathtaking. And the diversity of activities on offer both in and around the camp means there is always something to see, do or experience. There can be no better base from which to explore the enchanting beauty of north-western Slovenia.
This place is all about enjoying nature and the great outdoors, and the opportunities for active pursuits are almost endless, whatever your energy or ability level. On site you can cycle, swim and take part in yoga classes and workshops, or nearby you could go rafting down the Sava Dolinka River, try canyoning in the valleys, hike around Triglav National Park and kayak on the lakes. Golf, horse riding and flyfishing are also available, and the delightful town of Radovljica is well worth a trip, or you could simply relax, sunbathe and picnic on the shores of Lake Bled or Lake Bohinj. This kind of beauty has to be seen to be believed.
If you’re driving you need to leave the A2 motorway at Lesce 3 exit and then follow the road towards Bled. Alternatively there is a bus stop right in front of the campsite with buses heading towards Ljubjana and Bled.
Each cottage is 32 sqm and can accommodate between 5-7 people in two bedrooms. They have stylish living rooms with dining areas, light spacious bathrooms and kitchens furnished with dishwashers and microwave ovens, and they are also kitted out with TVs, WiFi and air-conditioning. Breakfast can be delivered to you for an additional fee.
Every cottage has a large terrace with shade, and the views of the surrounding forests and mountains are stunning. Around the site you will find a heated swimming pool, a ‘pump’ cycling track, an adventure playground and a multipurpose room suitable for events. The restaurant and bar serves homemade food all day, and every morning there is a mini market selling fresh fruit, vegetables and other local delicacies.
