Within the grounds of a hotel in the glorious Devonshire countryside you will find Treetops Treehouse, a luxurious treehouse built out of a 200 year old oak tree. It sites beside a pond beyond the hotel gardens where you'll be surrounded by birdlife and wildlife. Accommodation doesn’t get much more special than this.
Built in the branches of a splendid oak tree, overlooking Eggesford Forest and a tranquil fishing lake, Treetops Treehouse is a hideaway with a difference! Inside it is sumptuous and stylish, outside it is peaceful and secluded and altogether it is about as unique and romantic a retreat as you are likely to find. Come and discover North Devon from somewhere truly magical.
Set on the banks of the River Taw within the scenic landscape of the Tarka Trail, the hotel is tucked away in the heart of the Devon countryside. A stay here is a real return to nature, and you can savour the outdoor life with a walk in the forest or a day of fishing and shooting before you kick off your wellies and fall asleep to the sound of owls hooting. If you want to burn off some energy you can go horse riding, quad biking and golfing, or you could visit the North Devon beaches of Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands and Croyde (all within an hour’s drive of the hotel). The RHS Rosemoor Gardens nearby are stunning in any season, National Trust properties like Arlington Court are well worth a visit or you could take a ride on the famous Tarka Railway which stops at nearby Eggesford Station.
Getting There:
Eggesford is the closest train station and if you’re driving there are directions available on the website. If you’re coming from the M5 travelling south you need to take the exit at Junction 27 and take the A361 towards Tiverton. Take the A396 signposted Tiverton/Bickleigh until you reach the A3072 towards Crediton. Follow this until the junction of the A377 and head towards Barnstaple. After approximately 14 miles you will pass Eggesford Station and the hotel is just after this on your left.

Interior Details
The treehouse boasts a king size master bedroom and a separate bunk room with two slim single beds. There's an ensuite bathroom with a magnificent copper bath with a view and a separate shower. There is a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and breakfast bar and a cosy comfortable lounge with a wood burner. French doors lead out to the terrace.
Exterior Details
There is a large terrace which overlooks the fishing lake. The terrace has table and chairs, and an outdoor heater. Bird boxes encourage the owls and other wildlife to peek into the windows and a deer or even an otter can sometimes be spotted in the private paddock below the 5 metre high branches.
Conditions of Rental
All Saturday nights are 2 night minimum stay all year round. Children up to age 14 charged extra £30 per night per child. Children under 3 stay free. 1 night stays from April to end October only allowed if there are gaps to fill – contact us for details. Sorry, no pets.
