One-Off Feature

On the tiny islet of Ratua off the southern coast of Espiritu Santo in northern Vanuatu, stands Ratua Private Island, a wild and magical tropical paradise. Stay in an eco house and have your very own Robinson Crusoe experience in a place you will remember for a lifetime.

General Info

This beautiful island is something of a well-kept secret! It was established by a wealthy French gentleman following his sailing expedition across the South Pacific and it is still evident that he was a man of unsurpassed passion for the environment with a keen eye for eclectic design. On the island, a boutique eco-lodge made up of stunning villas is integrated into natural surroundings, maintaining a

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

You can enjoy Ratua’s lush acres on foot, by bike or on the back of a wild horse. More than 20 horses roam free on Marc's Ranch. Let a wrangler saddle up one for an adventure around the island or across shallow waters. Numerous mountain bikes are at your disposal at the Yacht Club or you can explore surrounding lagoons, reefs and blue holes where sea tortoises, bright coral gardens and colourful fish abound. If you love the ocean, you must not miss the Blue Holes, underground caverns which connect amazing blue-water swimming holes (which are very popular for snorkelling and diving). Likewise you could take a relaxing paddle in a local outrigger canoe through sheltered lagoons, rivers and waterways, or try your hand at archery using a traditional Vanuatu bow and arrows. Around Espiritu Santo you can experience a whole range of adventures – visit the Millennium Cave or Million Dollar Point, discover ancient villages, or join in a ritualistic tribal dance.
