General Info

Whether you’re planning a romantic weekend away, celebrating a special occasion, searching for the perfect honeymoon destination or just looking for a little slice of Lake District luxury, The Windermere Suites is the perfect choice. The eight suites are individually and thoughtfully designed, there are indulgent touches everywhere (think under floor heating and mood lighting), and the hosts can’t do enough for you.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

The suites are all named after towns and villages in the Lake District and these are all places that are well worth a visit for their history and beauty. Ambleside is surrounded by picturesque scenery like Loughrigg Fell, the Red Screes and Wansfell – it is a popular base for hikers and bikers and there are also plenty of pubs, shops and restaurants. Bowness, on the shores of Lake Windermere itself, is Cumbria’s most popular tourist town, and Cartmel, one of the oldest villages, is famous for its 12th century priory and its sticky toffee pudding! Coniston, a large village on Coniston Water, is overlooked by the 803m high Coniston Old Man, and is famous for inspiring the book Swallows and Amazons, and Grasmere is a delightful village once inhabited by William Wordsworth. And don’t forget the charming village of Hawkshead, the stunning market town of Keswick and Patterdale, which is home to many popular walking routes.
