The accommodation is elegant and beautifully thought out, the walls are adorned with artwork that depicts the local area, and the setting, on the pier from where the Sir Walter Scott Steamship departs on daily trips around the loch, is peaceful and picturesque in equal measure. The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

This area is a very popular destination for walkers and cyclists, and permits are available for angling. The nearby village of Aberfoyle offers a wide selection of pubs, restaurants and shops, and there are lots of excellent golf courses in the region. Loch Lomond, with its championship golf courses, aquarium and water sports, is easily accessible by car, and the cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling are also perfectly placed for day trips. There’s something for everyone to enjoy here, whether you want to take a boat trip, explore the loch on foot, horse ride or cycle along the Loch Ard Sculpture Trail, do yoga by the water, go clay pigeon shooting, relax in the spa or get the adrenaline pumping on the back of a quad bike or the side of a cliff.

Getting There:
Stirling is the nearest railway station and Glasgow Airport is about 1 hour away. If you’re driving, take the A84 from Stirling and follow the road for 5 miles past Blair Drummond Safari Park. Take a left to follow the A873 to Thornhill. Continue on the road past the Lake of Monteith, until you reach Aberfoyle. From Aberfoyle, take the B829 through Kinlochard. Follow the road for approximately 10 miles until you reach a T-junction. Turn right. Approximately half a mile down the hill, you will find Stronachlachar Lodge on the left side just before the pier.

Interior Details
On the ground floor there is a living room with an open fire and a wooden floor. There is also a spacious kitchen/dining room and a games room (with slate bed pool table), both of which have open fires too. There is a separate toilet on this floor. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms – 1 double with a 6ft bed, 1 double with a 5ft sleigh bed and a twin room – and a bathroom. And on a second floor there are 3 further bedrooms – 1 with a double bed and a balcony overlooking the loch, 1 double with an en-suite shower, and 1 twin. There is a separate shower room with a toilet.

Exterior Details
The lodge sits right on the pier on the banks of Loch Katrine and it has an extensive enclosed garden with a patio, a balcony, a BBQ and garden furniture. The grounds are dotted with picnic benches that overlook the loch and the fenced loch frontage is just 50 yards away. There is a café on the pier which serves excellent food and drink and rents out boats.

Further Details
The lodge benefits from a discounted weekly family membership of the local Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel’s swimming pool and gym (10 minutes away by car), plus 10% off spa treatments and food.

Conditions of Rental
Discounts are available for last minute bookings and short breaks are available on request (Low Season only, minimum 3 night stay). The booking period is from 3pm on the day of your arrival to 10am on the morning of your departure, and bookings run from Saturday to Saturday unless otherwise agreed. A booking deposit of 25% is required and the balance is due no later than 6 weeks prior to your arrival date. Pets are welcome subject to conditions but smoking is not permitted.
