This glorious clifftop chalet is set on the cliffs above Whitsand Bay in Cornwall, and has simply stunning views along the coastline to the Lizard Peninsula, and is just a few minutes’ walk to the sandy beach below. It’s offgrid, using solar power, and is an opportunity to switch off from the outside world, either for a solo retreat, or a break away with a loved one.
The chalet is on the Rame Peninsula which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s a wonderful escape for any time of year - the sandy beach below stretches for miles and can be reached from the chalet via a steep but accessible footpath. Inside, the chalet is cosy, so on a cold or rainy day, you can retreat inside and enjoy watching the changing coastal landscapes from the huge windows, and cosy up with a good book.
The chalet is set in a beautiful part of south Cornwall and there is lots to see and do in the surrounding area. Needless to say, the walking in the area is excellent, and what better place to start than on the three mile stretch of golden sands of Whitsand Bay below the chalet. Whitsand Bay is great for surfing, fishing and rockpooling. Head in either direction along the coast path. Millbrook is just a mile on the footpath, and the villages of Cawsand / Kingsand are easily reached and have a couple of good pubs and another beach to explore. The fishing village of Looe is 10 miles away and certainly worth exploring its shops, restaurants and harbour. Or head to busy Plymouth on the ferry from Torpoint for rainy day activities.

Interior Details
The chalet can sleep two people. It has an open plan interior. The windows stretch across the whole of the front of the chalet meaning you have the most exquisite views from everywhere inside. The double bed is at the back of the chalet. Then there’s a comfy seating area with sofa and chairs, a dining table with seating for four, and a well equipped little kitchen with all the appliances and utensils you’re likely to need. There is no mains electricity here so you’ll be using solar power which is sufficient for lighting, phone charging and playing music, but not for high energy devices. There is no TV or wifi. There are a couple of speakers which you can plug into your mobile for music, and a selection of books and games.
Exterior Details
The chalet is set in a large garden overlooking the beach and sea. There’s outdoor seating, and a BBQ. The garden is an excellent place for bird and marine wildlife watching - watch the gannets dive, and if you’re lucky, you might get to see dolphins, or even a basking shark. There is a gated and padlocked car park about 150m from the chalet access path (the car park key is in the chalet).
Conditions
Check in from 3pm (self check in with lockbox). Check out by 10am. Not suitable for children. No smoking. Bed linen and towels provided. You are welcome to bring a well behaved dog though please note that the chalet is not enclosed.
