One-Off Feature

Set within an organic smallholding in the stunning Northern Ireland countryside, this upcycled off grid horsebox offers a cosy and characterful hideaway where you can completely unplug from the outside world.

General Info

With mountains on one side and woodland on the other, Lackan Cottage Farm is a pioneering Green Tourism smallholding where you can truly escape. And in its midst you will find a lovingly restored horsebox with handcrafted interiors and everything you could need for a relaxing and romantic stay. The interiors are wonderfully unique, with colourful furnishings and lots of quirky pieces of art. The surroundings are sensational - you can see the beautiful Mourne Mountains from your bed. And the local area offers beaches, hills, walking trails, outdoor pursuits and attractions aplenty. This is a place to switch off and make memories.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

This is one of the most beautiful parts of Northern Ireland and there are lots of lovely walks close by, through Lackan Bog and Annahunshigo Lake or up to the top of Slieve Donard. Castwellan Forest Park, home to canoeing, cycling and a host of other outdoor pursuits, is not far away, and there are several key Game of Thrones filming locations in the area. Or you could head to the cafes, restaurants and beaches of Newcastle.
