The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Known as the Centre of Britain, this small market town is a great place from which to explore both Northumberland and Cumbria. Haltwhistle boasts a good range of shops and pubs. There is a leisure centre with heated open air swimming pool and cycle hire in the town, with pony trekking nearby. One of the best preserved stretches of Hadrian's Wall is only a mile to the north with various museums, forts and milecastles in the vicinity. There is an ongoing archaeological dig at the nearby site of Vindolanda. This is magnificent walking, riding and cycling country, with the Pennine Way and various bridleways and cycle routes passing rivers, forests, castles and Hadrian's Wall. Accommodation Details

Interior Details

This shepherd’s hut provides cosy open plan studio accommodation with a king-size bed, two basket chairs and a little table. There is a separate shower room which includes a modern shower, hand basin and WC. The woodburning stove with integrated oven is perfect for those chilly evenings, and the small kitchen has a double hob and a fridge. What could be nicer than rustling up some beans on toast, turning down the lights and gazing through the stable door to take in a sky brilliantly lit with stars?

Exterior Details

The hut itself sits in its own enclosed field which has been planted with trees to suit this area of Northumberland, and whilst the meadow grass is kept cut close to the hut, the rest of the field is left to nature. A small brook crosses the field, gently wending its way down to one of the tributaries of the Tyne.

Conditions of Rental

Power and fuel for stove, bed linen and towels included in rent.  Off road parking for 1 car 100 yards away.  Bike storage. Sorry, no infants, children, pets or smoking.
