General Info

Hay on Wye is known as being the ‘town of books’. It's a charming town on the border of Powys and Hereford, Wales and England. To the south of Hay on Wye, are the majestic Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons. North and East, are the rolling hills and pretty farmland of Herefordshire. There's plenty to explore in this area.  The farmhouse is only 5 miles from Hay-on-Wye with cycle routes passing the door. There is a riding centre just up the road and you can get excellent food at the local pub, the Three Horseshoes, which is just a five minute walk down the lane. 

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

There is no shortage of activities available in the area.  You can fish for salmon and trout in the river Wye, hire a canoe and paddle along the river, or join the Offa’s Dyke Path for a day of hiking.  The National Cycle Route 42 is nearby and there are walking trail galore, and activities like hang gliding, shooting, rock climbing, abseiling, gorge-walking, rafting, pot-holing, golf, off-road driving, paintballing, orienteering and quad-biking are all available in the area.

Interior Details

The farmhouse has five bedrooms and can sleep up to nine people.  Downstairs a large and traditional farmhouse kitchen with an Aga (on in the winter) and all the necessary mod cons as well as a large refectory style table with benches and chairs, and flagstone floors throughout.  There is a spacious and bright conservatory with a door out to the courtyard and parking area, and a large pantry / utility room.  The single bedroom is also downstairs, along with a downstairs cloakroom.  The sitting room is cosy with a woodburning stove, comfy sofa and chairs.  There is no TV but there is wifi throughout.  Upstairs there is a family bathroom and two further bedrooms, one twin, and one master super king bedroom with ensuite bathroom.  The bedrooms have wonderful views over the valley.

There are lovely gardens to enjoy, and a tennis court for guests` use. Ample parking


Includes linen and towels, electric and oil central heating, wifi, and wood for the woodburning stove.  Please note that the house is not suitable for children under 8.  Changeover date flexible.
