`Caminante, no hay camino, se hace camino al andar....`. This famous quote by Antonio Machado translates as: `traveller there is no path, you make the path by walking`. To me, this sums up our journey - when we found our wonderful finca it was wild and beautiful, it still is but now you can experience it, live within the atmosphere.

Claudia Bicego is one of the owners of Sovigliano, a wonderful farmhouse conversion in Chianti, Tuscany, which has four B&B rooms and four apartments. The farmhouse is set on a large piece of land with wonderful views, and guests share use of the swimming pool and grounds, and can get all their meals on site. One day in 1987, when we were camping with friends at East Prawle, we saw discarded auction details for a wooden shack and 1 ½ acres of land nearby. The location was exceptional. It has panoramic coastal views dominated by Deckler’s Cliff and Bolthead. The coastal path is close by, just above the lovely beach Seacombe Sands.
