Set within a private waterfront estate in the Lake District National Park, Waternook comprises two luxurious residences with an array of carefully curated concierge services on offer. The ultimate, super luxury, self catering accommodation, perfect for a weekend or holiday with friends and family.
Whether you book Waternook or The Great Barn or the whole estate, you’re sure to be wowed by this stunning lakeside retreat. Each 17th century country house is sumptuously furnished, with characterful bedrooms, elegant lounges and terraces overlooking the water. The services and experiences on offer are fantastic - so you can choose to self-cater or to be completely and utterly pampered (why not let someone else look after you for a change?). And the surrounding area is both beautiful and full of entertainment, whether you’re into mountain walking, wild swimming or photography. This is the ultimate setting for a weekend away with friends or a special celebration.
Often regarded as the most beautiful of the English lakes, Ullswater is both large and beautiful, with a mountain backdrop and a rich ecosystem that supports a number of Britain’s rarest bird and wildlife species. Those in search of outdoor pursuits will find mountain walks aplenty, as well as opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming and kayaking. Cycling and horse riding are also popular, or you could let the owners arrange some bespoke cooking, baking or wine tasting classes on the estate.
By train you can travel to Penrith and by plane to the Lake District Airport, or you can drive via J40 on the M6. Helicopter landing is available.

Waternook sleeps 12 in six stylish bedrooms, and it also boasts a private cinema room, a lounge and reading rooms, a state of the art kitchen and a Spa and Wellness Sanctuary with a bar area. Wood burning stoves, integrated music systems and wine storage are just some of the lavish extras you can expect. The Great Barn sleeps 8 in four suites and it has all the mod cons you could want for a relaxing home-from-home experience. Its split-level design and walls of glass really bring the outside in and amenities like a PlayStation and Sky Movies will keep everyone entertained.
At the front of Waternook there is a dining terrace with awe-inspiring views over the lake, and there are also gardens to explore. The Great Barn has patios, terraced gardens and a BBQ, and both properties share half a mile of Ullswater shoreline, a boathouse with private jetty and 26 acres of estate grounds.
Concierge services on offer range from private chefs and butlers to beauty treatments, personalised yoga lessons, sailing lessons and helicopter tours.
