Secluded and rural yet just 15 minutes from the vibrant city of Exeter, Poppy’s Cottage in Devon is a haven of warmth, character and natural tranquillity. It’s the ultimate countryside escape.
With its exposed beams, original brickwork and antique furniture, Poppy’s Cottage is full of history and charisma, but it has been sensitively renovated to incorporate all the mod cons you could want for a relaxing and comfortable retreat. The wood burning stove and under floor heating keep things cosy, the stylish furnishings add a touch of the contemporary, the private grounds are delightfully peaceful and the surrounding area is full of walks, wildlife and wonderful market towns. This is the perfect destination for those who want to really ‘get away’ without travelling to the ends of the earth.
From the front door you have access to some beautiful walks, and the local village of Newton St Cyres (home to an authentic Italian restaurant and the famous Beer Engine eatery) is just 5 minutes away. The market town of Crediton, which boasts a range of local shops and produce, a large supermarket and a branch line rail station, is 10 minutes from the cottage, and the beach at Exmouth is within easy reach (35 minutes by train). Or you could head for nearby Exeter, a bustling city full of shops, bars, restaurants and attractions.
There is plenty of parking available at the cottage or you could get the train to nearby Exeter.
