The Auberge sur la Montagne is our owner-run, boutique catered chalet featuring contemporary design in a rustic setting. There are 8 comfortable bedrooms, a spacious lounge with well-stocked bar and roaring log fire, a Kid’s Den, and our stylish residents-only restaurant. We have a state-of-the art hot-tub and sauna, south-facing garden and sun deck, and private car park.
The Auberge sur la Montagne is a small boutique catered chalet decorated in a harmonious mix of contemporary and traditional design. Our spacious lounge with its 200 year old wooden beams has comfy sofas, a fully stocked bar and a huge fireplace. It has been styled in colours that reflect the local scenery - slate grey, sky blue and snowy white. Our candle-lit dining room has been decorated in tones of cool grey with contemporary bright accent colours. We have a separate Kid's Den with squashy bean-bags and Sky TV (terrestrial & free-to-view channels), a sun trap south-facing terrace and garden, boules court and eight ensuite guest bedrooms sleeping up to twenty-one people. We have a state-of-the-art outdoor hot tub and sauna installed in the garden. Our personal service and over 20 years’ experience ensure that our guests enjoy their holidays to the full – and keep coming back for more!
We are in one of the most easterly and spectacularly beautiful parts of France, in the Alps right up against the Italian border. In the winter, the powder paradise of Sainte Foy ski resort is just 3kms away and is served by a free shuttle bus, or there's free parking if you prefer to drive. Val d'Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs and La Rosiere are all less than 25 minutes’ drive so there's plenty of choice of ski terrain for all ability levels and tastes. You can start walks and cycle rides from the house in the summer. You can also visit the nearby Vanoise National Park for its outstanding flora and fauna (Golden Eagles, marmottes, bouquetin and chamois are regularly spotted). Or why not take a picnic to the charming listed village of Le Monal, a picturesque, restored traditional Alpine farming hamlet.
We're an easy drive from the channel ports. Our nearest railway station is Bourg St Maurice, which is served by a direct Eurostar service in winter. In winter and summer you can take the regular Eurostar service to Paris or Lille and change to a French railways train. Our nearest airports are all served by the low-cost and regular airlines.

The Auberge has five spacious, comfortable ensuite guest bedrooms sleeping up to fifteen people in the main chalet. For larger groups there is additional accommodation for 6 people in the 3 double/twin ensuite rooms of the adjoining Garden Wing. The ground floor rooms and Garden Wing rooms have been completely renovated in 2014. They have warm, solid oak floors, walls painted in soothing Farrow & Ball colours, beautiful Designers Guild cushions and colourful Tweedmill knitted pure wool throws. The bathrooms have all been renovated too.
There is plenty to entertain you at the Auberge when you’re not out enjoying the local area. We have a state-of-the-art massage hot-tub and sauna in the garden which are the perfect way to ease aching muscles after a hard day’s activity, summer or winter. We’ll even bring you your favourite tipple so you can really chill out! Children always seem to have more energy left to burn, even after a day’s skiing. Our sledging tracks around the Auberge are a great way for them to let off steam before supper and bedtime. In the summer, our boules court is the scene of many family challenges! And our south-facing garden and sun deck are ideal for a refreshing cuppa or pre-dinner aperitif.
At the Auberge all the meals are home-cooked by our professional chef using fresh, local produce and we take a pride in serving a mix of local dishes and international cuisine. Vegetarians are well catered for by Andy Mac, himself a vegetarian, who is a qualified Cordon Vert chef, and we are happy to cater for other special dietary needs with advance notice. Breakfast is a buffet style feast, offering orange juice, a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs, freshly baked hot croissants and bread with home-made marmalade, jams, and local honey, washed down with freshly brewed tea, herbal teas or coffee. We don't serve lunch at the Auberge but we are happy to prepare packed lunches on request. In the winter season, come back to a roaring log fire and après-ski tea with freshly-baked cakes or biscuits. We serve an early children's supper so they can go to bed or watch a movie whilst you tuck in to a sumptuous 3-course dinner, served with our quality A.O.C. house wines, followed by coffee - all included in your holiday price. We have an extensive (and ever expanding!) collection of fine wines in our cellar should you prefer something different. One night each week we do not provide dinner and ask you to eat out at one of the many local restaurants. In the summer we offer a different 3 course dinner each evening which is included in our half board price. We serve local specialities such as raclette and fondues, as well as international dishes. Our wine cellar is well-stocked with wines which we purchase ourselves direct from the growers, from which guests can choose to sample the local Vins de Savoie or select wines from all over France. An early children's supper is available on request.
