A unique `chocolate box` Grade 2 listed thatched stone cottage dating from 1650, heavily beamed throughout with a vaulted bedroom. A truly romantic hideaway, oozing with character, set in a pretty Conservation village with a beautiful old cottage garden and a stream outside.
Little Thatch is everybody's dream picture postcard of a perfect English country cottage and has been filmed for several TV programmes. The village of Lillingstone Lovell with just thirty houses has changed little over the centuries, there is no shop or pub and a lovely place to escape from the bustle of life. However, it is well situated for days out and many National Trust properties are close by. Oxford, Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds are less than an hour away. Warwick and Stratford upon Avon are not much further. London is less than an hour by train from Milton Keynes which is 10 miles away with a big shopping centre, theatre, snowdome and much more. It is half an hour to both the M1 and M40 and an easy drive to the nearest airports of Luton, Birmingham and Heathrow. A perfect location for touring.
The village is surrounded by fields and woods with lovely walks all around. A perfect area to explore the countryside and village pubs. Close by are several golf courses, Silverstone Circuit and Towcester races. The nearest town of Buckingham is close to the magnificent 18th Century National Trust gardens at Stowe. On the Northern edge of the Cotswolds and on the border of Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
A car is needed as the cottage is five miles from the nearest towns of Buckingham and Towcester. 10 miles from Milton Keynes station. 15 miles from both the M1 and M40. There is no bus service to the village but easy to get taxis from the nearest towns.

There is a country style kitchen with a ceramic top electric double oven cooker, microwave, fridge freezer and washing machine. The stable door from the kitchen looks out on a beautiful large garden and private patio area. The large romantic double bedroom is furnished with pine furniture and has a vaulted ceiling of undulating plaster and twisted rafters, the window under the thatch looks out to a front garden with a clipped box hedge and lavender bushes to a little stream and across open fields to the church. The downstairs bathroom is sparkling modern and white with a shower over the bath. The cottage has many original features dating back nearly 400 years, but also has all mod cons and Broadband WiFi.
There is a beautiful large country garden shared with the artist owner who has created a haven of peace full of flowers and birds. There is a pond full of fish and frogs with a trickling pump and lots of areas to sit. A barbeque area and patios with garden furniture.
