Right in the midst of an tiny Greek village, this beautiful holiday house affords you expansive views out to sea as well as a glimpse into the daily life of the local people on the main village street. Beautifully restored and exquisitely furnished, here you can experience authentic Cretan life whilst still having beautiful sandy beaches on your doorstep!
This is one of three Greek holiday houses which have been restored by their conservation architect owner. The houses have been restored in keeping with authentic local Cretan style and their unique character has been enhanced with beautiful detailing. They face the southeast and capture magnificent views out to the Libyan sea from every room, terrace or courtyard. Their interiors are furnished with selected pieces from 19th century neoclassical Greece and with paintings of well known Greek artists.
The village of Anatoli dates back to Venetian times and is set at 600m altitude surrounded by wild countryside, gigantic rock formations and natural spring waters. The location is ideal for its peaceful environment with cool microclimate in the summer, the splendid views to the Libyan Sea and the proximity to beautiful sandy beaches of east Crete. A British couple have settled in Anatoli, and have an animal farm, organizing mule and donkey excursions along some of these old paths. Sandy beaches extend either to the northeast or to the southeast, including some of the most famous Cretan beaches. White sand and azure waters – you are spoilt for choice! You should not miss a day trip to Chrissi Sand Island (the Golden Sand beach), the most renowned beach island (no building is allowed) in Crete. It is a natural environment of exceptional beauty; you can get boats from the port of Ierapetra.
Lots of airlines (charter and scheduled flights) fly into Crete on a daily basis so you should have no trouble finding a flight. Alternatively you can sometimes find cheaper flights to mainland Greece and then take a train / bus / ferry to get to Crete.

Anatoli has olive tree groves, sculptured rock formations and spectacular views to the sea. Before the construction of the main road the villagers used paths that are still preserved, to go to neighbouring villages, to their cemetery, to agricultural land and to four little Byzantine churches in the vicinity of the village. All these places are of outstanding beauty and make excellent walks for visitors to the area.
