On a 12.5 acre property within the beautiful Aquitaine region you will find these three charming cottages - where better to relax and enjoy sunshine, scenery and the stillness of the French countryside.
This region is sometimes referred to as the ‘Tuscany of France’ and it isn’t hard to see why. Rolling hills and winding rivers mix with sunflower fields, wine chateaux and authentic villages to create a perfect setting for a relaxing holiday, and there’s no better place from which to experience it than Simply Canvas. The three properties, independent of one another, each have their own style and are equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Within the grounds there is a communal swimming pool and plenty of space for the children to run around and explore. And nearby there are abundant castles, vineyards and farmers’ markets. This is a tranquil little retreat with a big heart.
This is a charming and authentic part of France and from your doorstep you can join walks through vineyards and sunflower fields. The closest bakery is within walking distance and there is a tiny supermarket just a 5 minute drive away, or the bastide villages of Eymet, Miramont, Duras and St Foy la Grande (home to larger shops, markets, and restaurants) are 10-15 minutes from the property. There are lots of wine-producing castles in the area, not to mention rivers and lakes to swim and canoe in, or you could take a day trip to St Emilion (45 minutes), Bordeaux (1.5 hours) or medieval Sarlat (2 hours).
Getting There:
Bergerac airport is just 35 minutes away or you there are lots of flights into Bordeaux. Sainte Foy la Grande is the nearest train station, 15 minutes away, and driving directions can be provided.

Interior Details
The Stone Cottage, built with stones from the region, is simply yet stylishly furnished and has a main living area, a mezzanine double bedroom, a children’s bedroom, a small kitchen and a shower room. The Whit Cottage is light and airy, with a living room, a kitchenette, a mezzanine bedroom, another double bedroom, a bathroom and a separate toilet. The Wine House is the largest of the properties, with an open plan living room and kitchen, a dining room and two bedrooms.
Exterior Details
The Stone Cottage has a private terrace, the White Cottage has a terrace and a dining table and chairs, and the Wine House has a garden with a stone BBQ and deck chairs. Within the grounds you will find a large enclosed communal swimming pool and within the surrounding fields there are also benches, swings and hammocks. There are plentiful fruit trees bursting with cherries, figs and plums.
Further Details
There is 20 acres of land surrounding the property which is designed according to permaculture principles, a self sustainable way of gardening. The owners have set out a tour where you discover lots of edible plants and trees, you are introduced to a glass beehive and other small farm animals like chickens, ducks and pigs, picks your own leaves in the tea garden and get inspiration on water saving gardening techniques.
Conditions of Rental
Low Season is April to the first week of July and September, High Season is second week of July to the end of August. Breakfast is included. Evening meals made from fresh organic produce are available some nights of the week.
