One-Off Feature

Kingfisher Cabin is one of a collection of five luxury log cabins situated on a private estate in a beautifully untouched corner of Cumbria, near the Lake District.  All the cabins have private hot tubs, decks overlooking the river, and are all secluded from one another, ensuring complete peace and privacy.  The cabins are dog friendly, and a perfect setting for family holidays, a romantic getaway or a break with friends. You’ll feel instantly at home and relaxed in these stunning wilderness surroundings.

General Info

There are five cabins in total, three of which sleep up to six (in two double bedrooms and a double sofa bed in the living room) and two of which sleep up to 10 (in three double bedrooms and a double sofa bed in the living room).  All of the cabins have wonderful views of the river. There is a beautiful oak framed reception with free wifi & the daily papers should you wish to catch up with the outside world. The cabins are unable to get mobile phone coverage or wifi due to their secluded locations and are ‘off-grid’ allowing you to properly escape from reality.  There is a café/restaurant facility onsite in the same cabin as our reception area, where the resident Head Chef aims to provide a modern twist on seasonal fine dining.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

There are miles of walks along the river Lyne as well as a national trust walk, which follows on from the river Lyne. From horse riding, biking and zip wiring through the trees, there are plenty of activities to participate in.  Only 25 minutes drive from the cabins, Carlisle is your nearest city with plenty of local shops and all the High Street names, and you also have the Gretna Gateway outlet village only 15 minutes drive from your log cabins. Salmon and Trout fishing are available on the River Lyne as well as sea trout and wild trout when fish are in season. The river can be fished using fly fishing methods, spinning or with worms. If you would like to try your hand at fishing please do come to reception and hire a rod or order it when you book online. The rods are supplied with line, a reel and a spinner.
