This lochfront property in Scotland’s Argyll has spectacular views south and west of Asknish Bay and is an ideal base for exploring Oban and the surrounding coastline. It’s an area of incredible beauty, with masses to see and do for all the family, whatever the age and interests.
This holiday property has exceptional views over Loch Melfort and can comfortably accommodate five people (or six if you want to squeeze in an extra child). The picturesque, rural village of Kilmelford where Harbour Master is situated is on the shores of Loch Melfort, between the town of Oban (about 15 miles) and Lochgilphead (about 21 miles) and enjoys a thriving community life. There’s a village hall, a general store/post office/cafe, licensed hotel with pub and restaurant, parish church and boatyard/yachting marina. The surrounding area abounds with outdoor sporting and leisure opportunities and is renowned for its excellent sailing waters.
There’s absolutely no shortage of things to do in this area if you can drag yourself away from the amazing views from the house itself. The popular sailing village of Craobh Haven is 3.5 miles south and has berths for up to 250 crafts. From here you can see the local islands of Shuna, Seil and Luing, as well as some of the large islands such as Jura and Mull. From here you can join one of the excellent wildlife cruises where you can learn more about the local bird and wildlife, and visit the Gulf of Corryvreckan which has the largest whirlpool in the world. The famous harbour town of Oban is 25 minutes drive away with its array of shops and restaurants, known as The Seafood Capital of Scotland.

Interior Details
Harbour Master is all on one level and has three bedrooms - one master bedroom en suite, a further double room, and a single bedroom (with a pull out bed on request if you want to accommodate an additional child). There’s an additional bathroom. Underfloor heating throughout the living and kitchen area. The open plan living space has fabulous views of the loch, and a large wood burning stove. The kitchen is well equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer etc.
Exterior Details
There is a balcony and a small garden area, from where you can enjoy spectacular views of Loch Melfort. There is allocated parking for one car. Boat up to 10ft can be moored at the harbour next to the house.
Conditions of Rental
Check in from 4pm, check out by 9.30am. Linen and towels provided. Free wifi. Up to two dogs allowed ( no enclosed garden). 25% deposit to confirm booking. Please note, this is an apartment, not a rural cottage, so you will have neighbours.
